Description
Storage: Keep unripe plums at room temperature to ripen. Ripe plums can be refrigerated.
Preparation and cooking: Wash before use. The skin has a sharper taste than the flesh and it is often better to leave it on, but if you want to remove it for a mellower, sweeter flavour, blanch in boiling water for a minute then plunge into ice-cold water. The skin should then be easy to remove. Plums can be roasted, stewed, or poached and are delicious in crumbles.
